This document describes the steps required to interface OpenLM with SentinelSuperPro to monitor license usage and obtain license statistics.

1. Requirements

To query the license manager the following components must be installed:

  1. OpenLM Server v2x or higher installed on a machine in your organization
  2. OpenLM Broker v21.8.25 or higher installed on the same machine as the SentinelSuperPro

2. Monitoring capabilities and features

The current monitoring capabilities available for SentinelSuperPro through the OpenLM Broker are as follows:

OpenLM Broker queries the license manager locally. Once this data is collected, it is sent to OpenLM Server for processing.

Please note that OpenLM Broker must already be installed and configured to report to OpenLM Server before proceeding further.

Automatic OpenLM Broker configuration

OpenLM Broker supports the automatic configuration of SentinelSuperPro.

1. Click Detect in the bottom right corner of the Broker configuration tool window:

Click Detect in the bottom right corner of the Broker configuration tool window:

If the SentinelSuperPro process or service is started, the Broker will automatically create a line with all required settings.

It is recommended to manually check that the automatic configuration is working. For this, go to the added SentinelSuperPro LM → Commands tab and click Execute.

The resulting output should be valid, without the “Failed to execute the command” error.

Manual OpenLM Broker configuration

If auto-detect did not work, you can also add and configure the license manager manually. To do so:

  1. Access the Broker web UI, where the SentinelSuperPro License Manager is installed.
  2. Click on the License Managers tab→Add License Manager. An ADD LICENSE MANAGER popup appears.
  3. Enter the SentinelSuperPro LM port number.
  4. Select SentinelSuperPro from the “LM Type” drop-down menu. Click ADD.
  5. Select the Commands tab. Under the Data Inquiry, make sure the command path is correct.
  6. Switch to the Vendors tab. Click Add Vendor→ Enter SentineSuperPro in the “Vendor Name” field then click CONTINUE.

    2. Click on the There are x servers pending approval.EasyAdmin User Interface License managers servers
  1. Double Click on the row with the Pending status. Note the type for SentinelSuperPro is displayed as OpenLM Generic:Pending status license managers
  2. Verify the details: Host Name, Port, and Time Zone then click APPROVE.

At this point, the SentinelSuperPro has been automatically added to OpenLM Server and the configuration is complete.

5. How to verify your SentinelSuperPro configuration

To check if the SentinelSuperPro License Server is being monitored correctly:

  1. Open the EasyAdmin User Interface.
  2. Click EasyAdmin Start → Widgets → License Manager – Servers. Verify that the configured license manager appears in the server list. A green circle node indicates an active connection to the license server.

Please note, that sometimes it may take up to 3 minutes for the status indicator to change if this is a new connection.
